# Find Proprietary Timber Products in the Section Library

> Which Australian and New Zealand proprietary timber brands are built into the Calcs.com section library.

Calcs.com lets you design with a named manufacturer product rather than a generic timber grade. The section you pick carries the properties the supplier publishes for that product. Your calculation then matches what will arrive on site.

## Which brands are in the section library

Proprietary timber products from the following brands are built into Calcs.com for Australia and New Zealand:

* Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts
* Dindas Australia
* Egger
* Hyne Timber
* ITI (Independent Timber Importers)
* Louisiana-Pacific
* Metsa Wood
* Meyer Timber
* Nelson Pine
* NeXTimber
* Tilling Timber
* Wesbeam

Each brand covers several product families, including LVL, LSL, glulam, I-joists, OSB panels and graded sawn timber. 

## How to find a product in a calculator

Open a timber calculator and go to the section input. Choose the manufacturer, then the product, then the size. Only products supported by that calculator appear in the list. 

The Member Selector and Preferred Sections work with proprietary products in the same way they work with generic sections. You can restrict a search to one brand, then compare candidate sizes against your utilization target. ## Where the sizes and properties are listed

Each brand has a page at calcs.com/manufacturers, for example calcs.com/manufacturers/hyne. That page lists the product families carried, the depths and breadths available, and the calculators that expose them. It also names the supplier guide each set of properties came from.

Docs does not repeat those tables. Sizes and published properties change whenever a supplier revises a specification guide. A second copy in docs would drift out of step with the section database.

Tell the Calcs.com support team at [support@calcs.com](mailto:support@calcs.com). Useful requests include the product name, the supplier's current design guide and the sizes you need. ## Before you specify

Confirm availability and current design properties with your supplier. Proprietary products are revised and discontinued on the manufacturer's schedule, not on ours. The engineer of record remains responsible for checking that the product and its properties suit the design.
